Carolina Beach to begin construction soon for Island Greenway Project

first_img Construction will begin during the week of January 22 and is expected to continue through late summer. Work will include clearing, grubbing, grading, asphalt trail construction, and construction of a pedestrian bridge.Road crossings along the route include Sumter Ave., Spartanburg Ave. and Ocean Blvd. Safety signage and traffic control will be provided at these crossings. These streets will remain open to the extent possible, however temporary closings may be necessary.The town says signs and barricades will be used direct drivers and pedestrians to nearby alternative routes when closings are necessary.
